Junior Big Data Engineer

Exacaster’s team is looking for a Junior Big Data Engineer to join our Sharks DataOps team.

About the team:
You would join an Sharks DataOps team that provides technical support to all our existing clients. Team works with existing solution daily, according to agreed service plan, such as: maintaining status quo, small requests (and minor changes), planned/agreed changes and platform updates.

Your main challenge will be:

Your daily tasks will include:

• Ensuring data processes runs according to schedule.
• Performing root cause analysis of ETL failures, fixing at root cause level.
• Communicating with client regarding changes in source data or connectivity issues.
• Optimizing ETL schedule according to system load or other requirements.
• Creating new ETL’s.

We are looking for a person who has:

• Knowledge of Python, Java, or Scala.
• Writing & optimizing SQL queries.
• Understanding of ETL, pipelines, and data modeling.
• Basic familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong analytical mindset for troubleshooting data issues.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Ability to learn & adapt to new technologies
